Hypothes.is is a tool in Canvas that allows you and your students to collaboratively annotate a document or webpage. You can copy a Hypothesis assignment to another course just like any other content, but there is one thing to bear in mind: some Hypothesis assignments are dependent on files uploaded to your course, like PDFs. If the Hypothesis assignment asks students to annotate a web page or a PDF uploaded somewhere other than Canvas, there is no problem, but if the document for annotation is uploaded to your Canvas course, you need to copy both the Hypothesis file and the assignment.
If you’re following our Copy a Canvas Course into the New Semester guide, this will be done automatically. However, if you are copying the Assignment by itself using the Copy To function, make sure to do the same with any file it uses that has been uploaded to Canvas.
