Why is my course copy job stuck in “queued”?

When copying a course, usually the copy job will complete in about a minute. However, sometimes you may notice much longer times. In these cases, the job will usually say “queued”. This happens during times when Canvas is experiencing particularly high traffic, such as shortly before and after the start of a new semester. The copy job will normally finish within a few hours during these periods.
