All multimedia resources available in your Canvas course should have closed captions to comply with federal law and accessibility guidelines. It is important to create videos that are accessible for all users regardless of ability. Luckily, there is an auto-caption feature built into YuJa that you can enable to have closed captions generated automatically for your video.
YuJa should automatically caption your video. However, if you edit the video before the captions process, you may need to request auto-captions. Follow the directions below to enable auto-captions within your video.
When playing the video with captions, the video captions will say processing once auto-captioning begins. Once processed, you should edit your captions for accuracy. Please see our Edit Auto-Captions in YuJa Videos tutorial for more information.
Request Auto-Captions in YuJa
- Log in to YuJa using your MSU Denver SSO (Single Sign-On) option.
- Click My Media.
- Hover over the desired video.
- Click More…
- Click Accessibility from the left-side menu.
- Click the Auto Caption button at the top of the menu.
- Select your caption language from the drop-down menu.
- Click Send Caption Request.
- Click Save.
