ProctorU is automatically enabled and appears in your course’s left-hand navigation menu. If you aren’t using it for exams in a particular course, you may want to disable it so it doesn’t show up to students as an unused link. Disabling ProctorU only removes it from that course’s navigation menu, it does not affect ProctorU in any of your other courses.
If you change your mind later, you can re-enable it at any time by following the same steps below and selecting Enable instead.

Steps to Disable ProctorU
- Log in to your Canvas Account.
- Select the Course you’d like to work in.
- Go to Settings at the bottom of the left-hand navigation menu.
- Click Navigation from the tabs at the top.
- Find ProctorU LTI1.3 in the list.
- Click the three dots to the right of the name.
- Click Disable.
- Click Save in the bottom right.
Once you’ve completed these steps, ProctorU will no longer appear in your course’s left-hand navigation menu.
