While the MSU Denver Canvas Blueprint automatically determines which sections are visible to students by default, you can choose which navigation options students see in the course navigation menu. This allows you to control how students view and navigate the course, removing unnecessary cognitive load associated with students trying to locate the appropriate sections.
Please note that the Assignments, Discussions, Quizzes, Pages, and Files menus are disabled for student view by default. CTLD strongly advises against enabling these menus for student view. While these are useful collections for you, allowing students to peruse them can be problematic for several reasons. They may contain content you don’t intend for students to view and do not have the same organization options present in modules. For more information on creating organized, sequential modules, please view our Add Items to Modules tutorial.
